Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device which can make transmission force (rotation force) of a power transmission device variable in the power transmission device having a magnet coupling.SOLUTION: In a device for transmitting power to a fuel pump or the like in an automobile, a pair of magnets 2, 3 are opposed to each other in a housing 1, a groove 13 is formed between one side magnet 2 and a disc 12 and steel spheres 15 connected by a garter spring 16 are arranged in the groove 13. When rotation number of an engine is increased and is increased to a pump rotation number more than necessary, a centrifugal force due to the rotation exceeds an elastic force of the garter spring 16, therefore, the steel spheres 15 are moved to the outer side of the groove 13 by the centrifugal force and the magnet 2 is moved in a separation direction with respect to the magnet 3 by a spring 11. Accordingly, a gap Sbetween the pair of magnets 2, 3 is widened, a magnetic attraction force between both magnets 2, 3 (magnet coupling) is decreased, an allowable transmission torque of the magnet coupling is also decreased and rotation speed of the pump (output shaft 5) is suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
