Abstract:
To reduce noise due to the engagement of chain belts.SOLUTION: A power transmission device includes a crank sprocket coupled to a crank shaft, a cam sprocket coupled to a cam shaft, a chain belt wound around the crank sprocket and the cam sprocket, a displacement mechanism that displaces the teeth of the crank sprocket and the cam sprocket, an extending amount calculating portion that calculates an extending amount from an initial value of the chain belt, and a control portion that, when the extending amount calculated by the extending amount calculating portion is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold, controls the displacement mechanism so as to relatively displace one tooth with respect to the other tooth in a diametrical direction or a circumferential direction of the crank sprocket and the cam sprocket in the adjacent teeth of the crank sprocket and the cam sprocket.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
