In the present invention, a contactless power supply system (10) transmits power in a contactless manner between a power transmission device (20) provided on a road and a power reception device (30) provided on a vehicle, and charges a storage battery (12) provided in the vehicle. The power transmission device comprises: a plurality of power transmission units (20a-20c) each having single-phase or multi-phase power transmission coils (26u, 26v, 26w) and transmitting power in a contactless manner to the power reception device; a detection unit (SE1) that detects a power transmission unit which is not involved in power transmission among the plurality of power transmission units; a switching unit (22) that switches between energization and energization cutoff of an electrical path between one end and another end of the power transmission coils; and a control unit (60) that controls the switching unit so as to short-circuit the one end and the other end of the power transmission coil of the power transmission unit which is not involved in power transmission and which was detected by the detection unit.
