Title:
POWER TRANSMISSION GEAR USING MAGNETIC FORCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5865362
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a power transmission gear which can increase transmission force with the minimum bearing loss and change speed largely by mounting a magnet at least on either of friction wheels. CONSTITUTION:A friction wheel 1 comprising a pair of iron discs having a permanent magnet 3 therebetween is given flux distribution 6 by the permanent magnet 3. A path 7 for a line of magnetic force is formed in a contact line 8 between both friction wheels 1, 4, thereby to attract both friction wheels each other to generate frictional force. Therefore, as any small friction wheel 4 of smaller diameter will do, a larger speed change ratio can be obtained by one stage, as compared with a conventional friction wheel. Since frictional force produced between both friction wheels 1, 4 is not external force applied through a bearing, but mutual attraction force, bearing loss is zero, if bearing loss due to reaction of power transmission is excluded.
