To provide a power transmission mechanism that prevents a timing belt from running out of other pulleys if slackening when removed from one pulley, and to provide an image forming device with the power transmission mechanism.
The power transmission mechanism 60 comprises a driving pulley 71, a driven pulley 81, and the timing belt 61. Rotating members 84, 85 (timing belt runout preventing tools) each having a circular outer periphery shape are installed at positions opposite to the outer periphery of the driven pulley 81. Besides, flange parts 84b, 85b are formed on the outer peripheries on the one-side end faces of the rotating members 84, 85 and flange part 81b is also formed on the outer periphery on the end face of the driven pulley 81 on the opposite side to the end faces on which the flange parts 84b, 85b of the rotating members 84, 85 are formed. The rotating members 84, 85 prevent the timing belt 61 from running out of the driven pulley 81 when removed from the driving pulley 71.
