Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission mechanism capable of reducing decelerating force due to friction or pumping loss of an engine.SOLUTION: Power input from a transmission 3 to a torque converter output shaft 22 is decelerated and is then transmitted to a torque converter input shaft 21 through the torque converter output shaft 22 by a reverse direction speed reducer 15. A lock-up clutch 25 is therefore disengaged (lock-up released) during a coast travel of a vehicle 1, and the power from the transmission 3 is transmitted to an engine 2 via the torque converter output shaft 22, the reverse direction speed reducer 15, and the torque converter input shaft 21. As a result, a speed of the engine 2 can be reduced more than a speed of the transmission 3.
