PURPOSE: To make the whole power transmission compact by providing a coupling means in such a way that the input shaft of the coupling means is eccentric in the direction separated from the input shaft of a speed change gear with respect to the output shaft of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: A main clutch 20 is positioned in the direction separated from a speed change gear 50 with respect to an engine output shaft 1b, to connect the engine output shaft 1b and a main-clutch input shaft 28 to a gear transmis sion mechanism. Thereby, there is no problem of interference between the main clutch 20 having a large outside diameter and the speed change gear 50, enabling the speed change gear 50 to be provided fairly close to the side of the engine 1. Therefore, not only the dimension in the axial direction of the engine 1 and the power transmission in the axial direction of the engine 1 and the power transmission 10 in a combined condition as a whole but also the dimension in the width direction can be reduced, enabling the whole power transmission 10 to be compactly formed.
