Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve maneuverability and maintainability of rolling mill by supplying a low pressure oil when a rolling work is performed, and a high pressure oil when resetting of rollers is performed respectively to a hydraulic cylinder of a press shift from one to another.

CONSTITUTION: A work roll 4 is connected to a shift cylinder 8 via. a chock 5, a latch 6 and a shift frame 7 enabling the axial movement free. An outer cylinder of a main body 2 of a spindle is connected to a press cylinder 10 via a thrust bearing 9. A hydraulic line of the device 4 is maintained normally at a pressure of 210kg/cm2 and a feeding hydraulic pressure is reduced to 70kg/cm2 via a flow rate control valve and a pressure setting device to supply hydraulic pressure for the press cylinder 10 for rolling. In this instance, a proper amount of press power is provided, and an extraordinary wear of the roll 4, a coupling 3 etc. is prevented. For the roll resetting, the high pressure oil is used as it is and the escape of the spindle is prevented. By means of this method, the maneuverability and maintenability is improved.
