Abstract:

To provide a high strength and high rigidity power transmitting part by achieving high density of sintered material by powder press sintering method.

A gear 10 which is a power transmitting component comprises a sintered material which is produced by granulating a raw material powder mainly composed of iron, press-molding the resulting granules, and burning the press-molded product. Relative density of the sintered material is not less than 85%, destruction strength is not less than 1,500 N/mm2, powder grain size (D50) of the raw material powder is not greater than 20 μm, powder grain size (D50) of the granules is not greater than 500 μm, and the pressure press-molding the granules is 400 MPa or greater and 800 MPa or less. Quenching treatment is applied on the sintered material and its hardness is set not less than HRC 50 in Rockwell C-scale, and then tempering treatment is applied on the same and its hardness is set not less than HRC 50 in Rockwell C-scale.
