Abstract:
To provide a bleed air pre-cooler system having sufficient pre-cooling ability while preventing increase in size.SOLUTION: A pre-cooler system 13 employs a powered pre-cooler fan assembly 15 having a fan 34 adapted to receive bypass engine fan air through an inlet plenum 25 and having an outlet guide vane array (OGVA) 38 adapted to control an airflow from the inlet plenum and fan. The powered pre-cooler fan assembly is provided with a rotational power source 30 operationally connected to the fan. A shroud 35 directs an airflow from the inlet plenum, fan and OGVA into a pre-cooler 16 disposed downstream of the fan and OGVA.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
