PURPOSE: To simplify the disassembling or assembling and adjustment of guide vanes by arranging a bearing at the casing side on a cap piece for closing a hole in the casing corresponding to the cross sectional size of the guide vanes so as to be tolerant of alignment errors.
CONSTITUTION: A casing 3 comprises a plurality of pump stages. A pump shaft 5 passes through a central hole of a hollow hub 4. An assembly hole on the outer peripheral surface is closed by a cap 7. Guide vanes 8 are radially arranged in a water conduit. The vane has a bearing pinion 9 supported by a bearing 10 in the hub 4 at the end of the central side, and an outer end connected to a guide vane trunnion 11. The guide vane trunnion 11 passes through a seal bearing 12 in close proximity to the cap 7. The seal bearing 12 includes a bearing 13, a seal region 14 and an outside end seal 15. An adjusting device has an adjusting lever 16 acting on the trunnion 11 and rotating an adjusting ring 17 via a link 18.
