Abstract:
To provide a preceding standby type pump which can prevent a failure of an underwater bearing and continuously perform stand-by operation even when supply of lubrication water to the underwater bearing is interrupted.SOLUTION: A preceding standby type pump includes: a water supply pipe 45 which supplies lubrication water to an underwater bearing 41; a lubrication water supply line 55 which is connected to the water supply pipe 45; an intake pipe 63 which communicates with a flow passage 10; a water level detector 72 which detects a water level in a suction water tank 1; a speed changer 68 which switches a rotational speed of an impeller 7 in at least two stages; and an operation control section 75 which controls operation of a prime mover 25 and the speed changer 68. The operation control section 75 is configured to switch the rotational speed of the impeller 7 from a rated speed to a standby speed lower than the rated speed when the water level in the suction water tank 1 is lowered up to a preset speed switching level L3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
