Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict and prevent giving a sense of discomfort to a driver that one's vehicle is left behind by a preceding vehicle at start of the preceding vehicle.
SOLUTION: At start of the preceding vehicle, a target inter-vehicle distance LT is set using a secondary delay format filter based on an inter-vehicle distance L between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle and a predetermined inter-vehicle distance command value L* and a braking/driving force is controlled so that the actual inter-vehicle distance L accords with the target inter- vehicle distance LT, and at stop of the own vehicle, if the actual inter-vehicle distance L is smaller than the inter-vehicle distance command value L*, the target inter-vehicle distance LT is set using the secondary delay format filter including a time delay element.
