Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress and prevent imparting of a sense of incongruity to a driver when reducing speed of a self-vehicle according to speed reduction of a preceding vehicle.
SOLUTION: When a follow-up traveling mode for making the self-vehicle follow the preceding vehicle is set, braking force and driving force are calculated to make an actual inter-vehicle distance L coincide with a target inter- vehicle distance LT by a controller 2 for a follow-up control. When an occupant operates an accelerator pedal 13, the actual driving force is controlled by an engine output control device 11 based on the calculation result. When the occupant operates a brake pedal 10, the actual braking force is controlled by a braking control device 8 based on the calculation result.
