Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering a noble metal, in which the noble metal being a reduced form of a noble metal ion is recovered rapidly and extremely easily from a noble metal ion-containing solution being under an acidic condition without using a reducing agent while preferably sorting other non-noble metallic ions.SOLUTION: The method for recovering the noble metal comprises the steps of: bringing a yeast of genus Saccharomyces such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae into contact with the noble metal ion in a liquid which contains one, two or more noble metal ions selected from the group consisting of gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium and osmium and has the pH equal to or lower than 4; separating the yeast preferably within 8 hours after the contact is started, more preferably within 4-5 hours thereafter; and firing the yeast separated from the liquid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
