To provide a printing method which continuously forms a high precision pattern on a glass substrate or a flexible substrate like a plastic film and is capable of securing the position precision of different ink patterns relative to each other.
An ink liquid film 205 is applied on an ink release layer 203 of an ink releasable film substrate 201 and is pre-dried. A removal plate 211 on which a projecting pattern being a negative pattern of an image pattern is formed is pressed against the ink liquid film 205 to remove a part of the ink liquid film 205 corresponding to the projecting pattern, whereby the image pattern is formed on the ink releasable film substrate 201. The ink releasable film substrate 201 and a substrate 202 to be printed to are aligned to transfer the image pattern on the ink releasable film substrate 201 to the substrate 202 to be printed to. The substrate 202 to be printed to is preliminarily provided with base patterns 204 which are to be a base of the image pattern. The ink liquid film 205 is transferred to selected base patterns 204 of the substrate 202 to be printed to.
