Abstract:
PURPOSE: To keep a tension of a strand in a little and predetermined value independent of a surface state of the strand in preforming the strand and enhance durability of the device.
CONSTITUTION: In this twister three pins 28, 30 and 32 arranged in zigzag are commonly shared by total strands 10, the total strands 10 are preformed by intermeshingly passing through the pins 28, 30 and 32 in a state planary stretched in parallel and the preformed strands 10 are collected and twisted to obtain a steel cord 12. Each pin 28, 30 and 32 is rotatably held and no dynamic friction is generated between the strands 10 and the pins during intermeshing passing of the strands 10 through the pins.
