Title:
PREHEATING METHOD FOR COMBUSTION AIR AND HONEYCOMB-FORM HEAT STORAGE BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3106124
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably feed high temperature combustion air approximately equal to a combustion exhaust gas temperature, by a method wherein a swithcing time for a radiation mode and a heat storage mode is set to a specified time, and decided based on the thickness of a cell wall in direct proportion to the thickness of the cell wall of a heat storage body.
SOLUTION: In, for example, a column-shaped honeycomb heat storage body made of ceramics in which an infinite number of square cells 2a are formed in a longitudinal direction, a ratio P/T between a cell pitch P and a cell wall T is determined by a formula f=(1-B)B3, wherein B is the opening ratio of a heat storage body and B=(P-T)2/P2, P and T are set in a range indicating that f indicates a maximum value or a value approximately equal thereto. In this case, f indicates a maximum value when P/T is 7.5. Even wen P and T are set in a range of 5-10, a condition approximately equal to an optimum condition is obtained. Even when the P/T is set in a range of 5-10, a switching time of a radiation mode and a heat radiation mode is set to 90 seconds or less, preferably a short time of 20-60. Combustion air is preheated to a high temperature approximately to that of combustion exhaust gas by bringing the combustion air into contact with alternately high temperature combustion gas, having 1000°C or more and the combustion air.
