To provide a low-cost and lightweight preload adjustment structure of a rolling bearing, which maintains a stable operation by suppressing a variation in mechanical precision.
A direct drive motor 100 comprises: a cross-roller bearing 14; a housing inner 220 supported by an inner ring 14a; a rotor 12 formed of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion higher than the cross-roller bearing 14; and supported by an outer ring 14b; and an outer ring holding member 28 for securing the cross-roller bearing 14 in such a state that a preload is applied to the cross-roller bearing 14. The housing inner 220 and a bearing support 240 are also formed of materials having coefficients of thermal expansion higher than the cross-roller bearing 14. Axially-extending notches 240b, 240c are formed in the inner peripheral surface and the outer peripheral surface of the bearing support 240.
