PURPOSE: To easily provide preload by making thickness of one bearing ring extremely smaller than its outer diameter, and radially elastically deformable.
CONSTITUTION: When an outside bearing is assembled, first a fist row of cylindrical rollers 5 are combined on a guide surface 16 of an intermediate ring 2, and then an outer ring 1 is engaged on the intermediate ring 2. Therefore, a guide surface 15 of the outer ring 1 abuts to the rollers 5. Next, the outer ring 1 is moves relative to the intermediate ring 2 receiving pressing force axially, and is expanded in diameter within an elastic range by the rollers 5 abutting the guide surface 15 so that an insert opening A between the outer ring 1 and the intermediate ring 2 becomes large to insert a second row of cylindrical rollers 6 between guide surfaces 17, 18 without problem. This diameter expansion is allowed because the thickness of the outer ring 1 is very thin, and contact angle α is small. A collar 10 is fitted on the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate ring 2, and is fixed to its position by a snap ring 10a, and the axial size of the collar 10 is determined by preload required for the bearing.
