Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compatibly suppress combustion noise and secure combustion stability by delaying a timing for compressing and igniting air-fuel mixture on the outer periphery side of a combustion chamber.SOLUTION: A premixed compression-ignition type engine system executes first fuel injection (203) using a fuel injection valve (37) for injecting fuel to the center of a combustion chamber (73) to form air-fuel mixture having a first equivalent ratio, which is easy to ignite, second fuel injection (205) using the fuel injection valve (37) for injecting fuel to the outer periphery side of the combustion chamber (73) to form air-fuel mixture having a second equivalent ratio richer than the first equivalent ratio, and water injection (207) using a water injection valve (47) for injecting water to the outer periphery side of the combustion chamber (73) where the fuel is injected using the second fuel injection (205). The water injection (207) is executed when the second equivalent ratio is not smaller than 1.0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
