Abstract:
To provide a premixed compression ignition type engine which has a metal discharge electrode part facing a combustion chamber on the ceiling surface of the combustion chamber at its position near a fuel injection port of a fuel injection valve, for improving its thermal efficiency by reducing unburned fuel loss and cooling loss in an operation region where a load is equal to or higher than predetermined one.SOLUTION: In the operation region where the load is equal to or higher than the predetermined one, fuel injection is performed separately in an intake stroke and in a compression stroke. In the compression stroke, the fuel injection is performed over at a plurality of times in a specific period for the compression stroke (from when a quater of the compression stroke passes to when three-quater thereof passes).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
