Abstract:
To cause sufficient a compression for self-ignition of gas mixture to maintain a stable operation condition in a premixed compression self-igniting engine 100, in which clean air is supercharged to a combustion chamber 21 by a supercharger provided on an intake passage 8, the gas mixture formed in the chamber 21 is burned through compression self-ignition, and an exhaust gas of the chamber 21 is discharged to an exhaust passage 9.
This engine is provided with a mechanically driven supercharger 30, and a back-pressure addition means 16 for adding back pressure with respect to the flow of exhaust gas on the exhaust passage 9.
