Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for preparing 1-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone from 1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone in high yield and with a simple process.

CONSTITUTION: This method for preparing 1-amino-4-hydroxyanthraquinone is comprises treating 1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone with ammonia in an aqueous medium in the presence of a base and of a catalytic amount of a reducing agent.
