PURPOSE: To improve adsorbing ability of sea water uranium through molding and drying by adding soluble high polymer material to titanic acid, dissolving the same in water, adding sulfuric acid then neutralizing the same.
CONSTITUTION: Soluble high polymer material having heat reversible gelation characteristic is mixed in powder or fine particle form titanic acid. Next, the mixture is dissolved in cold water, after which sulfuric acid is added. Next, this is neutralized, thence it is molded to such a shape at which contact efficiency with sea water and water flow resistance become optimum. It is then sufficiently dried and dehydrated, whereby the porous adsorber having a large adsorbing surface area is obtained. If the adsorbed uranium is desorbed, its reuse is also possible.
