Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful as an antibacterial agent, by reacting an α-ureidobenzylpenicillin with a benzoyl halide.
CONSTITUTION: The titled compound of formula III (R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is H or OH; R3 are 2W3 lower alkanoyloxy groups, at least two of which are adjacent) is prepared by reacting a compound of formula I or its reactive derivative with a compound of formula II (X is halogen) in a solvent such as chloroform at -10W 25°C, pref. 0W10°C. The compound of formula III thus prepared is an excellent antibacterial agent having remarkable effect to the bacteria belonging to Pseudomonas genus.
