PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as an additive for fire-extinguishing foams, in high yield and purity, by the reaction of a diamine compound containing fluorine, with acrylic acid or a derivative thereof in a simple purifying stage, without forming by-products and impurities.
CONSTITUTION: A diamine compound containing fluorine expressed by formula I (Rf is 3W21C polyfluoroalkyl; A is formula -(CH2)p-, etc.; R1 is H, 1W20C alkyl, etc.; R2 and R3 are Hs, 1W3C alkyls or hydroxyalkyls; m is an integer 2W6) is reacted with acrylic acid or a derivative thereof, e.g. a lower alkyl ester or an alkali metal salt, in an organic solvent, e.g. methylene chloride or acetone, at 10W50°C for 1W5hr, preferably in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. an alkali, to give the object compound of formula II.
USE: An additive for cleaners, waxes, anti-fogging agents, and a variety of etching agents. An evaporation inhibitor.
