Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound at a high yield in a one vessel process by a specific method.
CONSTITUTION: In the first step, a cyclopentadienyl compound of the formula: CpRa (wherein Cp is cyclopentadienyl, indenyl or the like; R is alkyl, an amine or the like; and (a) is 0-4) is reacted with a compound of the formula: (R3R4)xMg (wherein R3 and R4 are each H or 1-13C alkyl; and (c) is 0 or 1) and the resultant compound of the formula: (CpRa)Mg is reacted with a compound of the formula: X1QX2 [wherein X1 and X2 are each Cl, I or the like; Q is formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are each H, 6-10C aryl or the like; Z is C, Si or the like; and (b) is 1-3)] to give a compound of the formula: (CpRa)2Q. In the second step, this product is reacted with a compound of the formula: (R3R4)cMg and the product is reacted with a tin compound according to the equation II (wherein R6 is 2-20C alkyl or 6-10C aryl; X3 is halogen; and (k) is 1-4). In the final step, the resultant product is reacted with a transition metal halide according to the equation III (wherein M is Zr, Hf or the like; and X is X3) to give the objective compound of formula IV [wherein R' is R; Cp' is Cp or NR" (wherein R" is alkyl or aryl where (a) is 1)].
