Title:
PREPARATION OF CADMIUM SULFIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58167427
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make the calcination uniform, by forming partition walls provided between CdS powder and a flux in a crucible from a material meltable at the melting point of the flux or above and the calcination temperature or below, liquefying the whole flux, and bringing the flux into contact with the powder.

CONSTITUTION: A material having a melting point of that of a flux 3 or above and the calcination temperature or below, e.g. CdCl2, NaCl or CdSO4, is prepared as partition walls 4. CdS powder 2, the above-mentioned partition walls 4 and the flux 3 are packed in a crucible 1 in the order mentioned to place each partition wall 4 between the powder 2 and the flux 3 and heat them. Thus, the flux 3 is totally molten, and then the partition walls 4 are molten. Thus, the powder 2 and the flux 3 are calcined at a temperature of uniform distribution.
