Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a calcium-enriched drink preservable over a long period without forming precipitate, having high calcium content because of extremely low removing ratio of calcium carbonate with clarifier, free from clogging trouble of clarifier owing to little effluence of calcium and giving little load on a waste water treating facility.
CONSTITUTION: This process for the preparation of calcium-enriched drink comprises the steps of mixing a calcium carbonate slurry with a sucrose fatty acid ester, (ii) homogenizing the mixture to form a slurry containing calcium carbonate particles having an average particle diameter of ≤0.3μm and a geometrical standard deviation of ≤1.80 and (iii) dispersing the slurry in a drink or water at ≥50°C.
