PURPOSE: To prepare coated paper for printing having excellent antienvironmental suitability by coating base paper having a constant kinetic wetting value with an aqueous coating composition containing a specific copolymer latex as an adhesive and drying the coated base paper.
CONSTITUTION: One side or both of base paper having a kinetic wetting value of -0.32-0.15 is coated with an aqueous coating composition containing as an adhesive (A) a copolymer latex comprising a conjugated diene, etc., having an average particle size of 1000-1800 and a gel content of 75-95wt.% in an amount of 3-35 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of (B) a pigment, followed by drying the coated base paper and finishing the surface thereof by a calendering method, etc., to provide the objective coated paper. The copolymer latex has specific measuring values when converted into a dry film and irradiated with UV rays for 24hr at 50°C, respectively.
