Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a coating for a water-resistant support using an aqueous coating composition containing a bonding agent which has a free isocyanate group and principally comprises water dispersible polyisocyanate having an improved hydrophilicity.
CONSTITUTION: A method for preparation of coating, in which (a) a water- resistant support is treated with an aqueous coating composition containing water and a bonding agent which principally comprises at least one hydrophilicity improved organic polyisocyanate or a polyisocyanate mixture, has an NCO content of from 5 to 30 wt.% (preferably from 10 to 23 wt.%) and disperses in water, and (b) the composition is cured in the presence of moisture to form a polyurea coating.
