Title:
PREPARATION OF COENZYME Q10
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5640635
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as a remedy for congestive heart, etc. in high efficiency, from a saponification product of concentrated Q10 accumulated in the distillation residue obtained by the decomposition and distillation of an easily and stably available marine oil or fat as Q10 source.

CONSTITUTION: A marine oil or fat (e.g. liver oil produced from sardine, mackerel, walleye pollack, Atka mackerel, shark, etc., an oil extracted from recovered fish liver oil with an organic solvent, etc.) is used as a marine animal resource containing coenzyme Q10. It is converted to a monohydric lower alcohol ester or a decomposed fatty acid, and distilled in vacuum to distil out the most part of the fatty acid ester or the fatty acid. The concentrated coenzyme Q10 accumulated in the distillation residue is saponified with caustic alkali, and the excessive alkali is neutralized. Sterols are crystallized and separated from the resulting soap solution, and the mother liquor of the soap solution is subjected to the chromatographic treatment to obtain the objective coenzyme Q10.
