Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound comprising a steroid derivative having a cyclopentanone phenanthrene hydrocarbon skeleton, e.g. gonane, estrane, or androstane, combined with an antitumor substance. EXAMPL:3-Hydroxy-1,3,5( 10 )-estratriene-17β-[methyl-2-[N'-( 2-chloroethyl )-α- N'-nitrosoureido]-2-deoxy-D-glucuronoyl-oxy]acetate.
USE: Antitumor agents.
PROCESS: A steroid hormone derivative of the formula (ST is steroid residue; R' is 1W4C alkylene group; X is halogen, anino group, etc.), e.g. 3-hydroxy-1,3,5(10) -estratrienl-17β-monobromoacetate, is reacted with an antitumor substance, e.g. silver salt of methyl-N-benzyloxycarbonyl-α-D-glucosamine uronate, in a solvent, at room temperature, and then hydrogenated to give the desired substance.
