Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain high-purity and highly safe cyclodextrin in high yield, by treating starch with an enzyme for synthesizing cyclodextrin, separating prepared cyclodextrin by ultrafiltration.
CONSTITUTION: At least one kind of starch selected from the group consisting of starch, composition fraction of starch, and reaction product of starch decomposition is treated with an enzyme for synthesizing cyclodextrin, the formed liquid is subjected to ultrafiltration to give a filtrate containing cyclodextrin, which is concentrated by evaporation under heating or reverse osmosis to give cyclodextrin. While branched dextrin is separated from the unpenetrated solution prepared by ultrafiltration.
