Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled roving having uniform and thin thickness and broad width, by spinning a number of glass fiber filaments, collecting the filaments dividedly into a pair of strands with gathering shoes, and doubling and winding the strands.

CONSTITUTION: A number of glass fiber filaments 11 drawn from the bushing 10 are coated with a binder by the applicator 12, and collected dividedly into a pair of strands 15, 15 by the gathering shoes 13, 14. The strands 15, 15 are doubled by the traverse 16 (the part 16a is long slit and 16b is round hole) traversing reciprocatingly along the axial direction of the winding shaft 18, and wound around the shaft 18 under traversing motion to obtain the directly wound glass fiber roving 19 (the part 17 is contact roll).
