PURPOSE: To prepare the title drug having high resistance to gastric juice, by coating a solid drug with a coating liquid obtained by dispersing powdery hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose phthalate having a specific average particle diameter in water containing triacetin at a specific temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A drug having enteric coating and excellent resistance to gastric juice, is prepared by coating a solid drug (e.g. tablet, pill, granule, capsule, etc.) with a coating liquid obtained by dispersing 3W20wt%, pref. 5W15wt% of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose phthalate powder (HPMCP) having an average particle diameter of ≤100μ, in water containing ≥5wt% (usually 10W40wt%), based on the HPMCP, of triacetin, at ≤25°C. Since the process is carried out without using organic solvents, the problems of fire hazard, risks to safety and health, etc. are completely solved.
