CONSTITUTION: A monomer (pref. styrene) is dissolved into a vehicle consisting of a non-conductive fluid (pref. a mineral oil, etc.) pref. by a ratio of 85-75 (wt.)% fluid and 15-25% monomer and polymn. is performed under a stereo- stabilizer [pref. poly(methyl methacrylate), etc.] and a polar liq. (pref. ethanol, etc.) is incorporated therein to obtain an electrically viscoelastic fluid wherein polymer solid particles (pref. the particle diameter is smaller than μm) on the surfaces of which the polar liq. is absorbed are dispersed in the vehicle and which is suitable for electromechanical clutch, fluid-filled engine mount, etc.
