To obtain a preparation for external use for skin which is an inhibitor of tyrosinase activities, an antiaging agent, a promoter, etc., for the production of hyaluronic acid, effective in preventing and reducing pigmentation after sunburn, dermal stains, ephelides, chloasmata, etc., by blending an extract from a specific plant therein.
This preparation for external use for skin is obtained by blending a plant extract from Regulo (botanical name: Abelmoschus moschatus) which is a plant growing especially in a dry grassland, a pasture, etc., of Indonesia therein. The amount of the blended extract from the Regulo is 0.0005-20.0wt.%, preferably 0.001-10wt.% expressed in terms of a dry substance in the total amount of the preparation for external use for the skin. The resultant preparation for external use for the skin is useful as an inhibitor of testosterone-5α-reductases, a hair tonic and a preventing and a therapeutic agents for acne.
