NEW MATERIAL:A fibronectin physiologically active substance complex.
EXAMPLE: Fibronectin daunomycin complex.
USE: An antitumor agent, antibacterial agent, and anti-inflammatory agent. Since fibronectin is specifically collected in disease sites such as wound site, inflammatory site, new site of propagation of organism cell, etc., it is used as a carrier, and linked to a physiologically active substance useful for remedy of various kinds of diseases, to give a drug having high affinity for affected site. A smaller dose of the complex has sufficient effect than a dose of the physiologically active substance itself.
PROCESS: Fibronectin is blended and reacted with a protein crosslinking agent (e.g., glutaraldehyde, carbodiimide, etc.) and a physiologically active substance (e.g., daunomycin, cefalothin, etc.), to give the titled complex. The reaction is preferably carried out in a buffer solution at room temperature.
