Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare the title particles having minute particle diameters and a narrow particle diameter distribution by emulsifying a curable silicone compsn. in a dispersion medium in the presence of a surfactant through a combination of two specific steps and curing the emulsified compsn. CONSTITUTION:In preparing the title particles by emulsifying a curable silicone compsn. (e.g. polyvinylsiloxane having both molecular terminals blocked by trimethylsiloxy groups) in a dispersion medium (e.g. water or a mixture thereof with an alcohol) in the presence of a surfactant and curing the emulsified compsn., the emulsification is carried out through a combination of two steps, i.e., the ultrasonic treatment step (pref. with a high-output ultrasonic wave generator having an output of 300-1200W, an output frequency of 20-15kHz, and an output wavelength of 20-50mum) and the microfluidization step. Thus, fine particles having a mean diameter of 1mum or lower and a narrow particle diameter distribution are prepd.
