Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain easily and industrially the titled compound in high yield, by reacting a chlorinated nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound with a fluorinating agent in thermostable benzonitrile as a solvent at a temperature required for the halogen exchange under autogenic pressure.

CONSTITUTION: A chlorinated nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound, e.g. a compound having a basic skeleton expressed by formulas I WVI, etc. and one or more Cl atoms directly linked to the caron atoms constituting the above-mentioned skeleton and if necessary CN and/or NO2, is reacted with a fluorinating agent selected preferably from alkali metal and alkaline earth metal fluorides, particularly KF or a mixture thereof with CsF at 190W400°C in benzonitrile medium under autogenic pressure to give industrially and advantageously the titled compound. The above-mentioned method has the following advantages; The above-mentioned solvent is thermally stable, and usable at the above-mentioned reaction temperature, and therefore side reactions will not be caused between the raw materials and product. The temperature control can be easily carried out to prevent the formation of a large amount of carbonized substances.
