PURPOSE: To obtain the title advantageously usable compound for use as a fluorocarbon surfactant with a simple proceclure in high yields, by reacting the corresponding carboxylic acid halide with an amine and an alkali compound in a specific hydroxyl compound-water solvent.
CONSTITUTION: By using a mixed-solvent of water and a water-soluble or dispersible hydroxyl compound (preferably cellosolves or carbitol) having a higher boiling point than that of water [the weight ratio of the hydroxyl compound to water is preferably 0.05W2:1], a fluoroalkylcarboxylic acid halide or a fluoroalkylsulfonic acid halide is reacted with a primary or secondary amine and an alkali compound to give the desired fluoroalkylcarbonamide or sulfonamide quantitatively without loss loss of separaton and puruification in the process. An additional treatment after reaction is simple, and the solution of the desired compound is directly usable as fire-extinguishers. When used as an aqueous solution, the solution is advantageous because of high water-solubility.
