PURPOSE: To prepare a grid rice cake, by cutting a rice cake pastry with a pair of mutually crossing zigzag cutters, coating or spraying the obtained grid chip with a seasoning, and baking the chip.

CONSTITUTION: A vertical zigzag cutter 2 is lowered against a rice cake pastry 1 formed in a rod form, and at the same time, a horizontal zigzag cutter 3 is moved horizontally toward the pastry closely to the vertical cutter 2 to cut the rice cake pastry in the shape of a grid. The objective grid rice cake can be prepared by coating or spraying a seasoning to the grid chip, and baking the chip. The produced cake has unique appearance, is impregnated uniformly with seasoning in contrast with a sheet rice cake and has unique taste, flavor and palatability.
