PURPOSE: To obtain a low-viscosity, homogeneous, high-concn. coal/ water slurry with excellent storage stability, by roughly wet crushing and dehydrating coal, introducing the dehydrated cake into a superpulverizer mill, where it is very finely pulverized, and mixing the coal with adjustment water and an additive.
CONSTITUTION: Coal 2 is supplied from a coal bin 1 together with water 4 to a roughly crushing wet mill 5 and roughly crushed in a wet state, and the obtd. low-concn. coal/ water slurry 6 is transparent to a dehyerator 7 and dehydrated. The obtd. dehydration cake 9 is sent to a superpulverizer mill 10, where it is very finely pulverized. Adjustment water 12 for adjusting the concn. of the slurry is supplied from a tank 11 and a necessary additive 14 such as a surfactant is supplied additionally from a tank 14 to the mill 10, and mixed under agitation. The obtd. high-quality, high-concn. coal/water slurry 15 is sent to a tank 16 and stored.
