PURPOSE: To considerably reduce the size of a forming device by such an arrangement wherein a substrate on which ultraviolet ray setting type resin is dripped is caused to rotate at a high speed and a stamper having specific signals is brought to closely contact with the resin layer and then the resin layer is hardened by radiating ultraviolet rays on it.
CONSTITUTION: Ultraviolet ray setting type resin is dripped on a substrate 11 made of such a material which transmits ultraviolet rays and the resin layer is made uniform in thickness by rotating the substrate 11 at a high speed. This substrate 11 is placed on the upper surface of a bottom force 1 made of ultraviolet ray transmission glass and the substrate 11 is caused to warp by blowing compressed air to the underside of the substrate 11 from an air nozzle 3. Next, top force 5 is caused to descend and a stamper 7 is brought to completely contact with the ultraviolet ray setting type resin layer 12 and after a specified pressure is reached, ultraviolet rays are radiated from a source of ultraviolet rays 2 and the resin layer 12 is hardened. Before removing a fastening ring 4, the upper mold 5 is caused to ascend and the stamper 7 is separated from the formed layer by moving it upward.
