Title:
PREPARATION OF HIGH-OCTANE GASOLINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60231793
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare a high-octane gasoline consistently with a good yield over a long period, by heat treating methanol and/or dimethyl ether with a specified catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: Zeolite such as ZSM-5, ZSM-11 or faujasite is treated with acid or ammonium salt, etc. for removal of at least about 50% of alkalis contained in it. About 20W99wt% of dealkalized zeolite is mixed with about 80W1wt% aluminum fluoride (e.g. hydrous aluminum trifluoride or basic aluminum fluoride). The mixt. is formed into a desired shape and is burned at about 100W700°C to prepare a catalyst. A mixt. of methanol and hydrogen in a molar ratio of about 1:1W5 is subjected to catalytic reaction at about 250W500°C under pressure of about 100atm or lower in the presence of the above catalyst to prepare a high- octane gasoline.
