Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a polyisocyanate useful for coating compounds, molding materials, etc. as a curing agent of polyurethane resin, having improved curing properties effectively without requiring a complicated process, by reacting a polyisocyanate with a specific diol.
CONSTITUTION: A polyisocyanate shown by the formula (R1WR3 are 4W20C alkylene, cycloalkylene, or aralkylene; n is 1W7) is reacted with a straight-chain diol[e.g., 2,2-dimethyl-3-isopropyl-1,3-propanediol(2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol)] having ≥3 hydrocarbon substituent groups in one molecule at room temperature W100°C optionally in the presence of a urethanization catalyst such as a tertiary amine or an organotin compound, to give the aimed substance.
