Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled substance useful as an intermediate for synthesizing pigment, etc. by a single container in high yield without preparing by-products, by accelerating the oxidation of ammonium iodide with oxygen in the presence of a vanadium compound as a catalyst by using a weak acid, reacting it directly with an aromatic amino compound in the same system.

CONSTITUTION: In the presence of a vanadium compound as a catalyst, ammonium iodide is reacted with oxygen in an aqueous medium containing a weak acid, it is reacted with an aromatic amino compound to give the titled compound. Vanadium monoxide, vanadium oxytribromide, etc. is preferable as the catalyst, and its amount used is preferably 3×10-4W3×10-1mol. The oxidation reaction is preferably carried out at room temperature W100°C, the amount of ammonium iodide is 10W200g based on 100g water, and the pressure of oxygen is preferably 0.2W10atm. Ammonium dihydrogenphosphate is especially preferable as the weak acid.
