Title:
PREPARATION OF L-GLUTAMIC ACID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59173090
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce L-glutamic acid in high efficiency, by culturing oleic acid-demanding and biotin-undemanding strain capable of producing L-glutamic acid, in a specific medium.
CONSTITUTION: An L-glutamic acid-producing strain demanding oleic acid but undemanding biotin for growth, e.g. Brevibacterium thiogenitalis D-248 (FERM- BP433), etc. is cultured in a medium containing ≥about 60mg/l of oleic acid or its salt and ≥about 100μg/l of biotin and/or a substance having the activity of biotin, in terms of biotin. The cultivation is carried out under aerobic condition keeping the weight ratio of the glucide to acetic acid used as the carbon source within the range of about 80:20W40:60 throughout the whole cultivation period.
